Description
Ireland may be known for it's rain, but oh, what beauty those rains produce in the landscape and skies. This view is from the ramparts of Charles Fort near Kinsale in County Cork. The approaching storm clouds become a colorful counterpart to the green and golden fields below. When the frequent rains subside, the lush landscape literally glows with a hundred shades of green.
The climate of Ireland can be summed up as mild and moist. The Irish rarely experience temperature extremes. Summers in Ireland are generally warm and winters mostly mild. Ireland is considerably warmer than other lands sharing the same latitude, due to warming influence of the North Atlantic Current which graces it's shores.
