These hickory nuts have been gathered from the forest floor, near the site of the 1840's Texas settlement of Hickory Hill, which is now the East Texas town of Avinger. Only a small number of hickory nuts bear the heart image, and it is a painstaking process to comb through the leaves and grasses and find one of these treasures.

We polish and shine these hickory nuts to turn them into pendants. Drop us a note if you'd like more info.

This image is a collaborative effort by Charlie and Norma Brock, who work together as a team in their arts and crafts shop, Texas Eagle Gallery. They make their in home in Northeast Texas, but love to travel and enjoy the world around them. Charlie is best known for his works in photography. His most loved prints feature Irish themes, from landscapes to portraits, as they obviously reflect his passion for all things Eire. He has photographed many well-known Irish musicians and performers who proudly display his work on their webs...
